e-District is one of the twenty seven Mission Mode Projects under National e Governance Plan (NeGP) with the DIT, GOI being the nodal ministry. This project aims at providing support to the basic administrative unit i.e. “District Administration” by undertaking backend computerization to enable electronic delivery of high volume citizen centric government services.

In the month of March 2017 the state government has announced about the free WiFi in colleges. On 22nd March, on the occasion of 105th year of Bihar Divas the scheme has officially launched by the Chief Minister of the state. As of now more than 200, 000 students have registered under the scheme.

Mobile Service Delivery Gateway (MSDG) that is the core infrastructure for enabling the availability of public services through mobile devices. MSDG provides different set of mobile based services to the backend departments and citizen. As MSDG is developed based on IIP/IIS (Interoperability Interface Protocol / Interoperability Interface Specifications) standards of government of India, it provides seamless integration with backend department. Backend departments will be connected to MSDG for mobile based services.
