IT is playing an important role in growth of the country today and Bihar is participating as one of the major player in IT sector of the country.

All this is being done under the administrative control of the Department of Information Technology (DIT) which was established in the year 2007. The Department of Information Technology is also the guiding force for other departments of the state for the usage and deployment of Technology enabled services for their benefits and benefits of their consumers.


The department, with a goal to take Information Technology to the entire State released its IT Policy in Year 2011 focusing on Tier-II & Tier-III cities of the state leveraging the experience of Rajgir as IT City. This policy aims to inforce the position of Bihar as an attractive destination for the IT/ITeS industry, enhance citizen services through e-Governance & m-governance model & give a special focus on Start Ups & budding Entrepreneurs to flourish in the state.
